You can't get pregnant during your period: false

You can get pregnant during your period. Although unlikely, there is always a chance. Unprotected sex also increases the risk of catching sexually transmitted diseases; so just don't risk it.

A period lasts for exactly one week: false

No two women are the same, most women bleed for an average of 4-5 days, but it's perfectly normal to bleed for anything from 3-8 days.

You can go swimming during your period: true

Swimming during your period is fine as long as you wear a tampon.

People can tell when you have your period: false

Loads of women are having their period at the same time; there is no way of knowing just from looking.
