Tampons

Why do I have trouble inserting a tampon?

Relax, relax, relax! Tampons are easy to use when you've got the hang of it, but it's really important to try to relax. Also, remember that your vagina slopes backwards, so always angle the tampon up and towards the small of your back. Next, always make sure you push the tampon high enough otherwise it might feel uncomfortable. If inserted correctly, you should not be able to feel a thing! Finally if it's your first time, try in the middle of your period when your flow is heavier. The extra moisture will make the tampon easier to insert.

Do I have to change my tampon every time I go to the toilet?

No, you don' t have to, although you may want to hold or tuck the cord out of the way to avoid it getting in the way!

Can I wear a tampon at night?

Yes. You can wear a tampon for 4 to 8 hours, so you can use tampons while you sleep so long as you make sure that you insert a fresh tampon before you go to bed and change it as soon as you get up in the morning.
