What is a balanced diet?

It's really not a mystery; in fact it's pretty simple. All foods can be put into one of five groups. The secret is to make sure you eat a variety of foods from each group.

The groups are:

  • Carbohydrates
  • Fruit and vegetables
  • Dairy products
  • Protein
  • Fats and Sugars

Unless you have a specific food allergy the trick is to eat lots of the top four and just enough of the bottom one!
